Dyeing with Tea bags! Pt 2 or What a kitchen is really for.....

Right i wasn't happy with my first attempt at dyeing or the first incarnation of Dee Dee/Marcie.
So i decided to try again....

This time i soaked the fabric for 24 hours using 15 tea bags, which i heated up from time to time!

Cut out the new shaped heads

Sewed their hair and faces on

Picked out a pretty dress for her to wear

and hey presto Dee Dee was born!

Gonna have to wait a bit to finish Marcie as i've completely run out of stuffing!!!!!

  1. Wow! That is really clever! I am always trying to find the right shade of fabric for faces. What sort of fabric do you use?
I spoke to you at the Thames festival, your dolls are awesome!

  2. Hi Jo
i'm just using old decorator sheets, light weight calico.
Everything i use had a previous life!!!
    Any natural cotton should work,
