The What The Butler Wore Fashion show

Last Tuesday i was a busy bee helping out the lovely ladies of the wonderful vintage shop What the Butler Wore with their fashion show and raffle for Macmillan

The WTBW ladies pulled out the most beautiful articles of clothing from their vault of treasure.
Clare from The Cut and Clipper created the most fabulous hair dos.
Robin and Emma of Eugene Machine fame provided the marvelous music for the ladies and gents to strut their stuff to.

Big Bonny made a guest appearance on the cat walk with her namesake Bonny.
The real Bonny is wearing a rare Horrockses raincoat by the way!

Local businesses donated super prizes for the raffle. I donated a Polly Dolly....

And here she is meeting her new lovely friend.
The WTBW ladies raised around £400 for Macmillan in only a few hours... brilliant stuff.

If you want to see all the photos from the night..... the clothes were stunning,i'd have a look if you weren't there.... you can see them on

(I'm so rubbish i can't do links yet!)
You never know you may get a glimpse of Mama Bea in a pretty frock .....

Dyeing with Tea bags! Pt 2 or What a kitchen is really for.....

Right i wasn't happy with my first attempt at dyeing or the first incarnation of Dee Dee/Marcie.
So i decided to try again....

This time i soaked the fabric for 24 hours using 15 tea bags, which i heated up from time to time!

Cut out the new shaped heads

Sewed their hair and faces on

Picked out a pretty dress for her to wear

and hey presto Dee Dee was born!

Gonna have to wait a bit to finish Marcie as i've completely run out of stuffing!!!!!

The day i went visiting old friends

This time last week i was fidgety, exhausted but extremely fidgety.
I couldn't settle in the house, couldn't face opening all the boxes and doing a stock take, couldn't sit and do nothing....so a wise lady said to me go for a walk in the park and that's just what i did.
It was beautifully sunny but a mad cat windy day.
I visited a few old friends.

This was sad to see

He looked at me in a funny way!

Methinks the fairies are about!

We had a little chat!

The last daisy left in the park???

Some fairy hats just waiting to be claimed

I love this old boy.

Then laid down in the sun and the wind and watched the clouds roll by... something i haven't done for many moons... bliss.

Thames Festival

This time last week i was recovering from the Thames Festival!
After two days of trading from 9pm -10pm i took a well earned rest... but more about that later.

I met some lovely people and caught up with some of my lovely old friends from Greenwich Market.

My home for the two days

I don't get the chance to show the penny Whistle's off properly at Covent Garden...note to self need to sort that out!

Dollies!

My friend Peter came to see me and had a dance with Sally and Polly

Hi!

On the Sunday i left Big Bonny at home...she wasn't happy with me!

My night time view!

I absolutely love Sophia and Matt's fabulous bags....

make up bags and purses.

They have a new shop in Greenwich,it's beautiful and needs to be visited.

For beautiful vintage inspired clothes you must check out By Jam.
You'll find them in Greenwich and Spitalfields markets on the weekends.

Beautiful top

Unfortunately my camera was not performing well in the dark and does not do their clothes justice,so go and have a look for yourselves,i'm sure you'll find something you like.

My stall just before bed time!

Then on Sunday just as i'd put the last of the dollies and Beastlies to bed the fireworks started as if by magic!

Thames Festival

This week i've been getting ready for the Thames Festival, finished making new stock, went and collected my stock from the storage at Covent Garden, made tags, bought new brown bags and a new tarpaulin.

The Beastlies and the dollies are all packed up and ready to go.
I just have to sort out some clothes to wear... methinks a wet suit.

I'll be outside the National Theatre from 10am-9pm Saturday and Sunday.

Fingers crossed we won't need a boat!

Lookie lookie.....

On my return from the IOW i found out that the dollies are in this months gorgeous Mollie Makes...

woop woop i is a happy Mama Bea !

IOW

My August Bank holiday was spent on the lovely Isle of Wight with some old friends, good tunes, gin and the smell of two stroke in the air....
i saw bats flying around for the first time, which pleased me greatly and heard peacocks getting ready for bed!!!

But there was one thing i'd forgotten about which was the fantastic train on the pier.

Now this is what the inside of a train should look like!

And the fabric oh the fabric....

Beautiful railings.

Just brilliant!

A proper train!

So pretty.

Proper street lamps.

We decided to walk back to the ferry instead of getting the train, the cobwebs needed blowing away.

Even the station clock is cool!
